Villa de Jerez was described by Channel 4's A Place In the Sun as a "moorish palace", and it's easy to see why. The characteristic Cabrera exterior is matched by an interior decorated by a renowned Moroccan designer who stamped the real character of Al Andalus on Villa de Jerez. Every room looks out on the stunning views of the nearby and distant mountains of Sierra Cabrera.

From the front door turn left through arches to the large lounge, which in turn leads onto a broad balcony with space and furniture for both relaxing and dining. On the other side is the dining room with it's moorish domed ceiling and again leading onto the balcony. Finally the kitchen, with wooden doors and granite worktop, is spacious and equipped with everything necessary including an American-style fridge with a chilled water dispenser.

The bedrooms are downstairs; four bedrooms and four bathrooms, offering a mix of double and twin beds. All the rooms are generously proportioned (much more so than appears in the photos) with comfortable and elegant moorish furniture.

There is a huge terrace surrounding the swimming pool, discretely private yet with wide open views of the mountains. Other spaces are dotted around the house, an ample courtyard by the entrance, and a bedroom terrace as large as main people's main garden.

The staircase tower extends upwards to a large roof terrace where the views extend in every direction; an ideal spot for star-gazing. The stairs also extend down another floor to a separate apartment with a large open-plan living room, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, which can increase the total capacity of the villa to 12 people.

Everything has been thought of, to create a truly memorable holiday in this "moorish palace". Even the outside lighting, which gives a wonderfully atmospheric effect for enjoying the balmy Andalucian evenings.
